VIU Cafeteria Remodel
Objective: To propose a redesign of Vancouver Island University's cafeteria that enhances the school spirit for both the student body and the faculty/staff community through a comfortable and safe space.
The new Vancouver Island University cafeteria will be located in the heart of campus in Nanaimo, BC. The cafeteria creates an atmosphere where people feel comfortable coming together by catering to a range of students and staff individuals. Its existing structure will undergo a design process enhancing warmth and reinforcing the school spirit. Overall, the design aspires to convey an inspiring, enthusiastic, inviting, impactful and intuitive atmosphere for all users.
The cafeteria design will make students proud of the learning institution they are a part of, enriching their day-to-day wellbeing in some of the most critical formative years of their lives. Furthermore, the staff community will benefit from the easy-going structure, decreasing stress levels, and improving their working environments.
